French Gray Shallots

Hi,

I'm new to this forum. I have about 30 lbs of French Gray Shallots to plant soon. I've had good sucess with them, I've been growning them for 3 years now but I would like to maximize my harvest. Any recommendations for ammending the soil before I plant them? Right now the ground is so wet I hesitate to plant them, waiting for a bit of dry weather. Thanks!

If you can provide us with a bit more detail, perhaps we can suggest something. What zone are you in? What are the current site conditions such as soil structure, sun exposure and rainfall. Also, when do you typically plant and harvest? Lastly, are you looking to maximize bulb size or bulb quantity?
