Storing society garlic?

I have a bunch of society garlic that I would like to plant in my father's garden in mid-october, but that I would like to dig up from my own garden now. My question is, can I store the society garlic bulbs for month or so without hurting it too much? How should I store it? Would it be okay in a breathable container in a hot garage?
