Dear Garlic Lover,

As a previous customer, we want to give you the opportunity to purchase some of our new garlic varieties directly.

As always, our garlic is grown organically on our farm in Western PA. where each plant is hand sown, mulched, weeded, harvested and cleaned.

Italian Purple

The basic Italian hardneck, also called Gambino and "Easy Peel." It produces large bulbs with easy to peel cloves that do wonders for Mediterranean cooking. Widely grown in the Ohio Valley and Northeast it makes its way into a lot of home-cooked Italian suppers.

Spanish Roja

A very versatile and tasty Rocambole variety. Peels easily, stores up to 4-6 months. Several very large cloves with each bulb. It has been described as the most piquant garlic in the world. It may have been brought to the U.S. by immigrants before 1900. It grows almost anywhere but has no problems with colder winters.

German Extra Hardy

Vigorous growing with long roots allowing it to over winter without heaving out of the ground. Very large bulbs with 4-5 large cloves. Flavor is very good and stores very well. The outside skin is white and the skin covering the clove is dark red.

Georgia Crystal

A pretty porcelain soft-stem variety that produces large bulbs with a half dozen or so large cloves. The wrapper is clean, firm and white in color. The flavor is relatively mild, even when eaten raw. A very good storing bulb and excellent for braiding.

Metechi

This fiery little bulb gives high powered garlic flavor. This purple stripe hardneck probably originated in the Republic of Georgia. It has lots of character and a nice finish. The bulbs produce a few very plump cloves which store well.

Russian Giant

A porcelain hardneck that can get very, very big if it likes your soil. The plants are very tall, and the unfurled scapes can head towards five feet at times. The big bulb has six to eight giant, easy-to-peel cloves.

Leningrad

Tall dark green plants with impressive scapes(if you don't cut them) which can reach up to 4 feet. Large plump silver wrappers and 4 to 6 fat cloves characteristic of the porcelains. Originally from the garlic collection at Gatersleben, Germany, where many heirloom garlics were rescued behind the Iron Curtain. Likes cold winters.

Tochliavri

A beautiful 1 inch garlic with white flesh and purple stripes comes from the village of Tochliavri in the Republic of Georgia. It has an excellent flavor, favors cold climates, and is easy to harvest and clean. It stores very well under the proper conditions.

German White

Nice sized porcelain hardneck bulbs with large solid cloves. This Teutonic Allium means business when it comes to flavor. But it is also easy to peel. Grows well throughout much of the U.S., and really likes cold northern winters.

Korean Red

A big bulbed Korean hardneck, thatÂs hot and strong flavored. This garlic is what makes kim chee a world wide favorite! The big cloves are also easy to peel.

Bogatyr

A BIG purple striped (marbled), robust hardneck, this bulb tends to produce just a few, easy-to-peel cloves. They tend to be purple-colored. Along with a rich and interesting flavor, this variety stores longer than many hardnecks and grows well in areas with cold winters.


Polish Hardneck

A porcelain with a purple striped wrapper. The original hardneck strain came from Poland through Ontario and into the US where it is grown widely in the Northeast and the Northwest. The cloves can be very large for the bulb size. The taste it contains is PURE garlic.

Silver Rose

The classic artichoke softneck, this beautiful, pure white garlic has a very long shelf life, and is a favorite of garlic braiders. It is extremely easy to clean and grows consistently medium to large heads.

Killarney Red

A vigorously growing strain, it tolerates wet climates better than some Rocamboles. Nice sized bulbs with beautiful, pink skinned cloves, often about 8-10 clustered in a single layer about the central stalk. These cloves are very easy to peel. A really great all around Rocambole.

Enon Valley Garlic harvest our bulbs from mid to late July 2007. All have been dried and cleaned (not washed) and hasn't been treated with any chemicals and can be eaten as well as planted. Please check your local laws if concerned with the legality of importing garlic into your locality. We are proud of our product and feel confident you will love it too.
