I had to do about the same thing. Several tomato plants had to be pulled to plant garlic in one area a week ago. Friday, several more varieties had to get into the ground and more tomato plants had to be sacrificed. Considering that this is the middle of October in Wisconsin, it's rare to have anything growing yet. The unusually warm October had some garlic growing in less than 10 days. The first was planted in 30 September and several of those varieties have 3 and 4 inch shoots today. Crazy!

Of my mixes, I don't think that any two are exactly the same. Some varieties have had a lot of extra cloves included due to their smaller size. I can still make up a few more without coming up short in the kitchen.

I did too, Martin. i finished my bed yesterday, and got my garlic all planted. perfect timing, it rained gently all night. only thing i havent done is mulch it, but i wanted to mow this weekend, and use shredded leaves and grass on top. i have plenty of old wood shavings to use, but from what i read, the leaves would be better.my first garlic bed, and such a wonderful start.
