Planting Garlic this weekend

I have my first garlic seeds (from Travis of Bloomsquall Farm) and will be planting this weekend. I visited three sites and the info for planting differs a little on each.

I am planning on planting my bulbs 2-4" deep about 4" apart in rows that are 8" apart. Does this sound good? If not, what is best?

Also plan on mulching with straw.

i plant 4" deep and it is colder where you are than here.

i plant cloves 6" apart to give adequate room for the bulb.

i planted a 4 1/2' X 13' bed, all cloves 4" deep and 6" on center.

mulching with straw is fine, shredded leaves are cheaper!
