I'm worried---

I carefully made my first garlic bed. its a raised bed-2 cinder blocks high. after carefully preparing it, i dumped my huge flower pots on top for more dirt. the bed looked beautiful. then, i planted, put a extremely light layer of chips over it, then a layer of grass clippings. I have some up, not all, but whats worrying me is rain! we had a major flood last night, 8", and now, i'm scared my garlic will rot in the bed. supposed to be a 50 degree temp drop today-think i should take mulch off and let it dry out some?remember-this is my first bed.
