Last week I bought "The complete book of Garlic" (Timber Press, Portland-London, ISBN 13:978-0-88192-883-9) by Ted Jordan Meredith. This recently published book (september 2008) has, in my humble opinion, all the characteristics of a real benchmark. I am really impressed with the very thorough way Meredith has treated the subject. Every aspect of garlic is explained in a very clear way. Nearly 150 profiles of garlic cultivars are put in the limelight. Meredith has also tackled masterly the problem of the garlic taxonomy. Surely not a minor job. The book is edited beautifully, the photo's are a real pleasure.
