planting garlic in spring

Hey all,

around here the rule for planting garlic is: plant on october 15 and harvest on june 15. well...just relocated to a new spread and have my garlic but still havn't been able to plant. Was reading Mother Earth, last issue, and saw where someone started garlic in starter trays for transplant in the spring. they didn't give any detail though, just showed a picture of happy little garlic cloves in what looked like 1" starter trays. hmmm, the seed were sticking out of the soil with some leaves. so, anyone out there do it this way? when do you start them this way, set them out in spring, harvest? success? thanks

paul
