'refinishing' rocks scratched in transport...

Can it be done? I relocated many boulders on our property to one garden area using a Bobcat. Most sustained scratches on the surface where the bucket scraped them. Any suggestions in minimizing the exposed rock surfaces? Thanks much. Keith

Are the boulders acidic or basic. If basic, Muriatic acid (HCl) might help. If acidic, a strong base - lye, perhaps?

The other thing you could try is if you have any broken chips, pulvarize them into a very small sand size grit, clean the rocks and use a clear adhesive in the scratches for the grit to adhere to.
