Problem with sedum spurium smothering bulbs

Posted by steve22802 7a VA (My Page) on

I'm having trouble with the sedum spurium in my rock garden creeping over top of my miniature narcissi and smothering them. I already have two clumbs that have stopped blooming. Does anyone have any ideas as to how I might protect the space where the bulbs live? Maybe I could plant an annual on top of the bulbs to fend off the spurium?

Surround the bulbs with stones!

Hmmmm.... maybe it would work to place a midsize rock on top of each bulb clump for the summer and then remove them all in spring.
