I have some Armeria seeds. How do I sow these. The information I find online says to soak them by they are these papery chaffed seeds and I would think no soaking is needed. I also read they need dark to germinate. Is this true. I Have Armeria formosa if that makes any difference.

Didn't find any info on that particulair species, but nearly all Armeria species germinate at 70F. A few need dark, but the greater portion do not. Never found any reference to soaking. Care to reveal your reference? And are they talking Armeria in general, or that species?

Knowing what species you are attempting is always beneficial. If you hadn't said, I would have asked.

Thank you for replying. I know I have the temperates I'm just confused on why I keep finding this soaking reference. Here is one site I found with soaking
http://grow.ars-informatica.ca/plant.php?L=28&nm=Armeria formosa
also here from a seed company
http://www.botanicalinterests.com/store/search_results_detail.php?seedtype=F&seedid=7

These are what my seeds look like. I can not imagine soaking these.

When I search I look for the armeria formosa. Maybe what I bought was not labeled correctly but the plant company I bought for had it labeled as Armeria formosa and that is what is looks like.
