Any luck with orchids in z6?

| I just got an encyclopedia of rock garden plants and there are several orchid species listed as hardy in my zone (6 in NJ). Has anyone had any luck with them in the rock garden? Specifically I like the Cypripediums, or lady slipper orchids. I've grown orchids in my home with some success but if there are orchids that I can grow in my rock garden that would be even better. |

| Many Cyps are hardy well beyond zone 6...some are native to MN. But, they are more suitable to a woodland garden than a rock garden. I have wanted to try them for a long time, but they are not cheap and not the easiest of plants to grow. |
