Newby here: Sempervivum or Echeveria?

I got a plant today at a plant swap. It was labeled as either Sempervivum tectorum or Echeveria elegans. I've looked at pics of both on the web and still can't tell which it is. Is there some easy way to distinguish the two? Thanks!

Hi Jayco...yes there is...on semps the leaves are usually much less succulent. Echeverias have a very distinctive 'look' to them but usually fatter leaves. At least, this has been my experience. Post a pic and we'll see.
