Some alpines...

Some pics from a hike a couple of weeks back (July 17), Lineham Ridge in Kananaskis Prov. Park, Alberta, in the Canadian Rockies...I guess planting alpines brings a little bit of this home.

Androsace chamaejasme, Sweetflowered androsace:

Eriogonum umbellatum, Subalpine Umbrella Plant:

I've never seen bigger clumps of alpine forget-me-nots! Myosotis alpestris:

Golden fleabane, Erigeron aureus:

From the streamside on the way up, Cypripedium passerinum, Sparrow's egg orchid:

The usual color of Penstemon confertus:

I believe these pale purpley and pink ones were different color forms of P. confertus, not P. procerus or other species...what do you think?

Bracted lousewort, Pedicularis bracteosa:

Townsendia parryi, Parry's Townsendia:

Saxifraga bronchialis, spotted saxifrage:

Potentilla nivea, snow cinquefoil:

Oxytropis splendens, showy locoweed:

Another hike tomorrow!
