Here's a photo of one of our alpine beds. This was taken June 1st. We have colour in the bed from about May 1 to the third week of July and then just a few blooms after that. We use a lot of lichen covered rocks, etc. to add 'interest' to the beds. Our alpine beds and other rock beds have different themes. We have one that's just local native alpines, a xeriscape, etc.

Here is a picture of mine while I was working on it. It's almost done now. Just in time to re-organize everything. I'll see if I can come up with a better picture the next few days.
