Tin/aluminum containers for planting...

| A friend gave me some tin-like oblong containers.(kinda like an old time bucket material) They look perfect for planting some hens& chicks and sedums. If I put lots of holes in the bottom for drainage and make up a cactus gardenlike mix- should they do OK?

| Don't see why they wouldn't, but those galvanied containers also make great molds for hypertufa troughs. Then you could make your container whatever depth you want. You could make several! For more info on hypertufa, check the hypertufa forum. Rick |

| Thanks so much for the info, Rick. In fact, my neighbor is going to teach me how to make hypertufa. Your idea of using the gal. steel container for a mold is a good one. I am glad that my semps & sedums should work in this container. ...Beverly |
