Wow...are you sure that someone didn't slip a new bulb into the mix??

HI Kristi, thank you...no, we didn't slip new one in the pot, I neglected this plants for over 10 yrs. I didn't even change pot or dirt. We had to pry out of pot because all 3 bulbs were huge & started to crack pot!! :) I really can't explain the difference in the color but all of them are just beautiful....Oh no, I may have to pick up another one for sure, lol Move over African Violets in come the Hippies :)

Your flowers are very pretty and I'm glad you're enjoying them!! A few years ago I had a Red Peacock (now deceased) that had 3 scapes, the first two were definitely red and the third scape which came probably a month later, was decidedly orange, so it can happen. Probably with some of the reds that are more to the orange side of red but still red.

It could also be that you had a selfed seedling grow to maturity in the pot and it would definitely explain a different color. Just an alternate explanation. Since temp and feeding would all be the same...even though Donna's explanation of these things just happening for no apparent reason also being a viable explanation.

They sound nice and healthy! Now that you have a better idea how to care for them, you should get years of blooms.
