Summer Dreaming

OK, folks, Its my birthday this week and my husband has come up with an idea for my present after we looked at a little set of shelves for growing houseplants on the porch and I said that it was what I needed for my amaryllis but on a larger scale. It is a set of shelves enclosed by screening with screened doors and roof that opens from a hinged top. I just need it to be built on an amaryllis size scale! I thought we would build it out of cedar and with plastic screens but how can we make it tight enough where the doors open and close to keep out Narcissus bulb flies? Any ideas? What would not deteriorate too fast in the sun? The unit will sit outside year round. I could even cover it with a plastic wrap to winter hardier plants in.

I will of course provide photos! But lets all plan the ultimate amaryllis low cost summer dwelling!
