Can't wait to see just how many spikes this giant bulb will produce! I am hoping for three or four scapes. Will post follow up photos as this fine bulb starts spiking.
I have what must be a ginormous bulb of 'Olaf', a beautiful red that produced 20+ leaves in my garden. I expect Olaf should produce more than four scapes next May or June. New Year's blessings to all! Jim

    Is that a new bulb or one you grew out over the summer? How big is it...40 cm?

    New bulb sold as 40+ cm in size. Hope it's foliage as nice as the strong growing 'Olaf' which grew 20-22 leaves last season. I think it's bulb is probably 40-50cm in size. Bulb has several inches of soil over the top of the bulb to enhance probability of winter survival in my z7b/8a Cape May County, NJ location. Happy Hippi growing! Jim
