Virus... Kristi's Warning Now Mine!

Hi Guys,

My computer had a Trojan virus, I bought a new virus software and every-time I visit GW my antivirus software warns me of potential threats it has blocked which according to it is a possible Trojan Virus.

I noticed also my computer started acting funny the first time immediately after visiting GW, the second time was the same. The virus disabled my Firewall allowing them to access my computer, once deleted I could enable my firewall again.

Now, I'm not sure this is exactly what happened but I am almost positive.

I just wanna say, I'm not sure this is truly where it came from but with Kristi's warning via her virus software and now mine it makes me a bit nervous.

This is why I use Firefox with adblock plus to browse the gardenweb forums. I tried to ignore the endless ads plastered all over the place and it was annoying with pages jerking around when videos loaded, but if GW can't figure out where viruses are coming in from, I'd rather protect myself and block the ads. Haven't had an issue with Firefox as my main browser for the forums.

Josh, was this in regards to the message I posted a month or so back? I had left GW open on my work computer overnight and my IT group said that the site had been active (sending out stuff) between 2 and 3 in the morning. There was all sorts of activity from GW and I wasn't on line. The activity wasn't from me...it was traced back to the GW site.

I use Opera browser and have few problems.It is very secure and marks bad sites.I also use windows defender,Comodo fire wall and malware bytes.Occaisionaly, I use spybot.Comodo catches malware in and out.I haven't had a problem on GW in a long time.
