'Ruby Meyer' was substituted this year by 'Jungle Star', I got one and so did Bill from emaryllis.com.

I thought so too, but since I don't have a Jungle Star and my New Lima was seriously challenged this season..I wasn't sure...I'd love to have both of them...

I wasn't sure, but the Jungle Star has a lighter band in the center of each red petal and seemed to be a better match in the pics I saw.

Mike is right, the ligher midrib is indicative of 'Jungle Star'. They're really difficult to tell apart, look at the middle of the tepals, especially the top one, it has the empty area where as 'Lima' is solid red.

'Lima' and 'Jungle Star' are the same cross which is H. cybister x papilio.

'Lima' has a star that extends from the center but stops short and turns solid red while 'Jungle Star' has a red throat and midribs that are a green and speckled red.

Great pictures of both for comparison..is it just me or is Jungle Star a larger flower...?

'Jungle Star' is bigger with taller scapes, large flowers and as a plant overall! To me, 'Jungle Star' is much more beautiful.

I am incredibly surprised that 'Jungle Star' is available again commercially as it disappeared for quite some time. Several vendors are selling it this year and it was sent in place of 'Ruby Star' which I happened to get.
