Is it advisable to pollinate a hippie the first season?

This season I shared with local friends several bulbs from Royal Colors. My share (4 bulbs) is blooming nicely and I wonder if I should try to pollinate them or not, giving that it's their very first season after "being worked on" for blooms?

I tried once with my Sweet Nymph but since I couldn't find the "proper" stigma on this double, the first attempt didn't take.

But today I saw this on SN's 3rd scape. Should I try again?

I also tried on Misty and I got this.

My gut feeling is that I should forget about pollination and let the bulbs save energy for good growth. SN bulb is sinking in size. Looks like it is sending a 4th scape and it also has a bublet attached to the mother bulb, too.

What is your experience with the issue? Please share.

Many thanks.
