I was as lukky as to accidentally perceive just one single potted "Exotic Star" 3 Y ago, at the local supermarket, and I would require it as my booties on the spot LOL!
For me it is still the most precious Papilio hybrid that had ever been created. It is incredibly beautiful.

The most majestic Papilio hybrid, on the other hand, is "Ambiance". I am just attempting to crossbreed "beauty with Majesty" (no, I do not care about ploidy)

lovely! have any of you ever gotten a selfing to take on exotic star? last year mine bloomed three times with four blooms per scape and not one selfing took.

In your picture, the color profile is orchid-like even (behold particularly the uppermost segment, that it reminds me of precious "ladies' slipper" hybrids)

Actually, I have a rather large pod of a selfed Exotic Star right now..I dabbed Party Pooper on one of the other flowers and there is a partial pod..but I don't think there is anything in it and on the third flower I put papilio and that aborted shortly after pollination. The Exotica selfed looks good, but it has yet to ripen...

Your Exotic Star bulblet came from my very first Exotic Star...Exotic Star I. It is a very robust and strong one that has produced lots of babies all these years. I have not been blessed with seeds from it though. I hope you get luckier than I am and produce some wonderful Exotic Star sibilings from it.

I have a seedling from Exotic Star that bloomed last year. I will see if I can find the pic.

I have several 'Exotic Star' x 'Sweet Lillian' seedlings. They're pretty vigorous. I think these will be beautiful babies!
