So apparently my Sweet Nymph had been stressed at a criticial time for scape/bloom development...long before it arrived at my door. The first scape of blooms was a real disappointment, but I held out that will some TLC it would be find next blooming season. The second scape, which bloomed shortly thereafter wasn't an improvement. BUT...it's been a couple of months (or so it seems) and scape #3 has appeared. I'm MUCH happiers now...!! This is much more of what I had in mind, although still not quite up to par with what was on display at Keukenhof. I have to keep telling myself that the blooms for the competition came from "Kobe" bulbs...pampered and massaged daily (just kidding...but the are the best of the best!).
