Hi Amaryllis Lovers,

My main Amaryllis bed looked over crowded so I started its replanting.

The bed

All bulbs were pulled out leaves cut but not the roots, they were dunked in an antifungal bath and were sorted by size.

The bulb lets were separated and will be planted in a nursery bed.

The bed was dug 8 inches deep. Cow dung manure was added. About an inch of soil was removed. The bed levelled and firmed. The bulbs were placed with 4 inches space.

The soil that had been removed was added up to the equator of the bulbs. Light sprinkling of water completed the job.

This bed will be left as it is for the next 4 years.

May be it is of some help to some.

Arif
