Your Jungle Star is a beauty..I hope to find one next year too. As for crossing you can try anything, if it doesn't work, you've lost nothing so don't hesitate to try. I think you will be successful. Just remember to daub pollen on once or twice a day for several days..it heightens your chances for success. Good Luck and keep us posted...

Jojo, I just wanted you to know that I haven't forgotten you. I have several seed pods I am waiting to ripen including 2 of Lima x Lima that look good so I will include seeds from them as well as some others. Might as well do this all at once since you're so very far away... :-)

You're right Donna, it's worth trying, and I will. Balentino has two flowers and I dabbed JS's pollen on the older one, stigma being still ok and the overall look of the flower too.
JS will receive pollen from the younger flower, they should be ready for the exchange soon.

Jojo, I will definitely self pollinate JS and I'd be delighted to trade seeds with you if the cross takes and I get seeds. JS has a second flower scape coming so I can try now and still get another chance later.
I'm hoping 'Apricot Parfait' would be blossoming then, but I doubt it. It seems to take it's sweet time developing the scape, and JS is fast.

Got some seeds from 'Bogota' with various reds as the other parent, but it wasn't exactly a super mom - nor dad. Although the seedpods looked ok, there were quite a lot of not so good of seeds inside. But yes, I did get some seeds and they developed into healthy seedlings. - This is by no means to discourage you Donna, no, just sharing my pathetic little experiences. The prospects of your cross are terrific!
