Hi Dan. Good question. Seems like most of the nurseries in this area are more general. I'll be interested if anyone posts anything that specializes in exotic plants. There are several places here that specialize in tropical fruits here (let me know if that is of any interest), but I don't know of any that specialize in bulbs.

There is supposedly one that specializes in cactus and succulents - a place called Florida Cactus. Their website is just a phone number. Never tried calling it. Anyone go there? Is this place legit? If so is it any good?

Those are all pretty general - sometimes you can find something unusual and cool, but mostly I get exotic stuff by mail order.

Another great place to go is Leu Gardens - http://www.leugardens.org/. This is a botanical garden, not a nursery. Always worth a look around. Too bad you aren't coming in March - they have an annual plant sale on their grounds where they bring in all sorts of specialty vendors. But you might give them a call and ask if they can point you toward the type of specialty vendors you are looking for. They have a pretty knowledgeable staff.

We have a half-dozen or so world renowned daylily hybridizers located generally north of Orlando. But peak bloom period here is usually mid-May. If you are the least bit interested I'll prepare a quick list.

Also, Tom Ritter Orchids for species and hybrids, Kissimmee, FL - near Mouse House, or A World of Orchids, also in Kissimmee.
