This is the second spike that the bulb put out. Is that usual for amaryllis? I thought they just put up one flower stock.

Most all hippeastrum bulbs put out 2 to 3 stalks depending on how large the bulb is. Some times 2 scapes can appear simultaneously and the 3rd appears later and, of course sometimes you just get the one...

....my Evergreen is putting out scape #4. I've had a few overachievers like that, including Sweet Lillian. Amazes me.
