    Hi Arif,
I particularly like the first one.

Do you know the parents of each of these? I have begun performing crosses, but have relied upon this forum to develop an intuitive feel for how traits are inherited. So I am delighted when people provide information about the parentage of their crosses. But of course I will continue to look forward to your seedling photos even if you are unable to provide this info!

    All the best,
    Bill

Same here - I'de be really interested to know what the parents were, especially of no 4, and also 5 and 6.

    Dear Arif,

I like the large with the very lemon/lime throat! The others remind me of: #1 a simplified nymph and #3 a San Remo. #2 with 8 petals is very unique!!

I'm looking forward to your photo of the entire amaryllis garden in bloom!

    Stay well Arif!

    Hello every one

Bill, All my plants are outdoor and natural pollinators interfere, once I tried to maintain proper record, the result was UN imaginable variations so I have given up.
Year 2010 my main objective was to get Big flowers and I am very happy as the result so far is majority 7 inch & +.
Kristi, the plants I transferred to pots are not doing well, wonder what went wrong.

Returning back to seedlings, here are some more.

This orange is 7 inch broad

    Dear Arif,
Hmmm... Have those potted bulbs gone through a real growing season yet? I know you have wide extremes in temperature. I think potted plants require more protection from extreme cold and heat than those in the ground.

How are you going to make more garden beds to make room for more bulbs!?!? I'm sorry that's not working out for you. I hope others can offer you some good advice.

I love all the different varieties and colors in the same bed, I can't wait for my beds look the same. But the thing that stuck out to me was the green tree with all of the thorns, what is it?

The tree with thorns on the trunk is Chorisia, my trees are still young, when in bloom it is one of the prettiest tree, covered with flowers lasting a month, flowers of every tree are different from others..

This year has been very rewarding to me, most of the seedlings are beautiful, and many are lookalike (siblings of same pod).

    Arif,

Your Chorisa trees are very interesting. The thorns on the trunk, possibly to keep 4 legged varmints off the trees and allow only birds to savor the beauty and possibly eat the flowers? Do they form a fruit after they have finished blooming?
I'll have go google this and satisfy my curiosity..

My favourite is the little white with light pink tips.

  • sun_worshiper

I love the brilliant orange of the first one in that last set. You have mentioned a couple times that you were aiming for large flower size in your crosses. How did you go about that? I can imagine the obvious of crossing large flowered parents. But did you use any less obvious strategies?

  • brigarif Khan
    Original Author

Yes sir, the obvious one, the largest parents, this year it is the largest and large having 4 or more flowers on a scape. I like pure white, one combination has been presented above.
