After Hurricane Ike the city replanted all the medians along Broadway. By my house they planted crinums in some of the beds. The other day while sitting at the stoplight I noticed a big bud sticking up among the crinums and thought it looked like an amaryllis. The light changed and I thought no more about it.
Well, this week the buds are all open. In among the milk and wine crinums are amaryllis! Lots of them! They are blooming like crazy and these huge red flowers. I will try and get some pics this week. They look awesome! Kudos to the city for using these.
