Excellent question. Maybe Josh can provide info. It's my understanding that they come from higher elevation and are exposed to brighter light and cooler temps. I "baby" mine less through the winters. Not sure if that contributes to them appearing less vigorous to me. As many folks I refer to 'Chico'as a selection of H. cybister.

Hey jojo4619, I would be happy to oblige but right now these are new bulbs. It will have to wait until they get bigger and make offsets. I really like the Cybisters- they are vey different and put out multiple scapes. I have Bogata, Emerald, Lima, Chico, La Paz, and even a Papilio. I want more! In the garden I have many Apple blossom and a NOID red that always returns.
