A few years ago, before I stored pollen, I crossed whatever happened to be in bloom at the time. Red Pearl x Limona wouldn't likely produce anything except a red, I later heard, but this one had me wondering for a couple of weeks what the bloom would really look like. The bud was a mix of red and yellow, but the back doesn't translate to what the bloom will reveal.

I think the back of the bloom is far prettier than the front, but it is unique in that the color isn't as red as I expected with Red Pearl as a parent, and the veining from Limona is very evident.

Reds aren't my favs, but this one can stay....this is its first bloom so it could improve shape and size with time. It's just opening this morning.
