The exotica cross is exotic, congratulations. Any advantage in growing Papillio as epiphyte ?

Good question on the papilio Arif. I've been growing them this way for about 5 years after reading that they occur in nature that way and after loosing an excellent variegated offset to rot. I have found: In my climate, region USDA 8b/9a + AHS Heat Zone 9, with long warm, humid summers, that they grow quite well. However, I have noted that the flower scape on them do not last quite as long and they may be more subject to freeze damage at a slightly higher temperature. The rot issue is well resolved. I have been growing H. aulicum in a moss basket for several years and they are thriving under that culture. I will try and obtain a specimen of Hippeastrum calyptratum, and see if they can be cultivated as an epiphyte such as they occur in nature.

A correction. The first flower is Evergreen not Green Dragon. ::

Pat-- great photos. I was wondering if the first one wasn't evergreen as I had my own first bulb of evergreen bloom this past winter. How do you like it? I'm so-so on the cybisters so far (although chico looks pretty wild and in a good way!).

I love the cross-- its gorgeous. Exotica seems to be yielding some excellent hybrids.
