| in late spring of 09, i planted my first amaryllis seeds. i work at a greenhouse, so placed them in the intermittent mist system for germination. i grew them in high light and pushed them along w 200-300 ppm liquid feed. i repotted them numerous times, starting with a 72 count tray, and now, most are in 1 gallon or quart pots. this past week, i noticed 3-4 bloom scapes rising up. i am so excited to see them starting to bloom! before i tried, i could not imagine that i could grow a bulb from a seed, much less to get it to flower! |

| Hi, If I recall correctly, you were breeding St. Joseph's with some of the newer varieties trying to attain cold hardiness with new shapes and form. I am interested in hearing your progress. This is exciting. Congrats on your scapes. Proof of a job well done. |
