Scape length of crosses

I am curious if anyone has noticed any patterns in the heritability of scape length. I strongly prefer the shorter scapes of Hadeco varieties rather than the longer scapes that are more suited for cut flowers. If I cross two such varieties, should I expect most of the seedlings to have scapes that are approximately the average of parents, or will offspring express the full range from short to long? Or does scape length show classical dominant/recessive expression?

I suspect that there will no simple answer, but I would be interested to hear about your experiences.
