Arif, what a nice gift from your friend! Do you know the parentage of the bulb? I have an unusually large Apple Blossom, though not as large as your bloom - I wonder if that's part of what your friend used. Seems like a good idea to try for large blooms.

Your Apple Blossom is beautiful..last year mine was beautiful too..looked just like yours..this year both plants look awful..small flowers bad color..if I hadn't seen them bloom last year, I'd think I had the wrong bulb! When she does her thing correctly she's really amazing..and that fragrance..

Donna, I'm not sure what it is about small blooms this year. My Neon is really weird. I'm going to start another thread about it. It's like it became a Sonitini or something.

While your friend's gorgeous flowers are indeed outstanding..don't discount yours!! You have shown your pictures of many many lovely creations that all of us would just love to have! Adding genes from his plants should most definitely improve some flowers, but so many of yours are just perfect just the way they are..we all always look forward to seeing your outstanding creations...

Arif I agree with Donna I think your blooms are wonderful! What I would give to stroll through your garden during the flower season. :) How wonderful to have a friend to share your amaryllis passion with that is worth a great deal.
