Hi Guys,

This is just a re-posting of a picture that I posted last year for you new guys to see how I ensure (to the best of my ability) to assure that a flower doesn't self itself before I get to it. If possible I try to remove the pollen sacks before they open but, that's not always possible since some pollen sacks open before the flower is open and some with short stigmas can really be a problem.

I collect straws among other foolish things much to my husband's dismay thinking someday I will find a use for them. These are new straws still in it's wrapper and throw it away after using it once. (Just like the real thing.:-))

Kristi has another method of containing the seeds if you're not going to be around when they open..maybe she'll re-post her picture..good to use when you're growing seedpods outside...

This works for me, but at times you could really use a third hand to hold the straw in place for a few minutes to assure that all flying pollen has landed somewhere else...
