Looks like you posted a photo, but it didn't show up. Several of the H. Papilio I was given have had 1-2" scapes in autumn 2012-spring 2013. Wish I knew why. Then others have lovely tall scapes.

We need to put our heads together and figure out why.

Try giving them a dose of potassium nitrate this growing season...1 tsp. / gallon. This might help your papilios overcome their shyness. :-)

its still growing, so i am assuming that it will get taller, but it looks like a miniture. it looks to be as big around as my kids finger.

I have yet to successfully bloom a papilio... so I always cheer a little more for those of you who achieve success! Even if she is small, she'll probably still be gorgeous!

I've never seen a papilio with such a wide bud!
