I would guess Dancing Queen, but the salmon orange shades seem to have disappeared somewhere. A lovely bloom though!

I think Rob is rght, It is possible it is a very stressed Dancing Queen. Next year with some TLC it should look better! Not that it looks bad now it's just not optimum..

In my estimation Dancing Queen is one of the loveliest doubles out there, just my opinion of course...

Ah bless Donna, your Dancing Queen is so outstanding! And very big. I know the garden centre next to me has these bulbs... but I'm fighting with CHAD

It does have it's drawback though as the flowers are so huge they weight the scape over and more often than not you have to cut it and put it in a vase. Of course since you can't pollinate on it it's not really a problem.

I have two seedpods using Dancing Queen's pollen and the pods are huge but they haven't opened yet so no telling what's inside.

I just lost with CHAD I saw your beautiful DQ and I was lost.
But can you explain to me, how a flower can be stressed. As it still seems to me a bit abstract.

Well, a stressed bulb can be one that is bought too late in the season or one that has been in a box kit for too long. A number of things can stress a bulb, being in the hot sun in the summer with not quite enough water or the proper amount of fertilizer.

When a bulb is rootless (usually new) or with just a few roots and it blooms that is also stressful for a bulb. If rot is not an issue than a bulb will usually perform much better the second year especially if it has roots grown the previous year.Most bulbs recover nicely.
