Since all my plants are pot grown I can't really add much other than wait until the stigma curls up and the 3 fingers are sort of reaching out for the pollen. The stigma must be curled up or you're just wasting your time.

Of course if they are outside than you can't be sure that they haven't been pollenated by the wind or insect even if you've removed the pollen sacs before they open.

I dab them twice a day for a few days some people do it more.. when the stigmas are receptive..Good Luck.
