Donna, I do think your picture is beautiful but I've decided to plant mine out this spring :) I'm running out of space inside!

BTW, I ran across someone who has been growing Hippeastrum in Louisville, KY for 9 years in the ground! I'm only a few hours from Louisville, I used to live there and the winters are very similar! I'm going to try my luck this year with all the overflow of hybrids I have minus a few like 'Neon', 'Sweet Lillian', my trumpets and cybisters!

Josh, Last year I was going to plant some extras in the ground..I really was..and once the cold weather came I chickened out..I just couldn't do it and I know I should have. I think Alana planted a few Red Lions out in the ground for the winter..she had the guts to do it!! I guess she'll let us know when they come up how they made out.

As far as my beautiful Minerva goes..she was actually on the pink side of red instead of orange this year. When back-lit from daylight through the window she was actually a cherry red..I just thought you'd all want to know...and..she's has a little baby..!! ;-) ;-)

My Minervas (five bulbs, each and every one a pink imposter) bloomed this past week. None of mine are as pretty as yours. Donna, your subject line still makes ME smile.

Well yes Carol..I will admit 5 Minervas IS a bit much..but I only have two..and of course L'Enfant..where are you buying all your mislabeled bulbs..big box stores?

Here is one last picture of Miss Minerva..sadly her beauty (just like the rest of us) is fading..but (unlike the rest of us) her beauty will return next year...
