I just got word that my proposal for a talk "Amaryllis: They're Not Just for Holiday Decorations" has been accepted at the annual meeting of the American Medical Writers Association. Before you think I'm nuts, they have lighter topics given by members in the evening over coffee and dessert.

For 4 of the past 5 years I've given longer formal talks on how pharmaceutical companies name their drugs. I am giving that talk again this year...however, this is what the leader said about the amaryllis topic: "Your topic, "Amaryllis: They're Not Just for Holiday Decorations", promises to enliven the conference. And I'm interested to see if you can do for this topic what you do for drug names."

I am really excited. No doubt I'll need to get an order in for some of the bulk bulbs and bring them as "give-aways". Maybe it's the free "stuff" that makes my sessions so popular!

Congratulations..maybe you could plan ahead (when is this talk anyway) and have some seedlings ready to give away..might be a treat as well as full size bulbs..just a thought, I'm sure whatever you do it will be successful..
