My experience is that they can grow nice pups no problem attached to momma and my hope is that someday I will have a pot full of these as mature plants all blooming.....a far-reaching goal, but I have seen pots full like this from some great growers in places like Hawaii and Darjeeling, India.

Have you been lucky enough to have yours flower yet? I was fortunate enough to get a single pod of 49 seed on mine from a self-fertilization this year and the first seed have just begun to germinate so I am excited to see if they grow well this summer :o) Dan

no, Dan, not yet. I can't remember the year exactly that I got them but I don't think they are old enough. I'm fairly sure I got them before I got the job I'm now in and I've been there about 6 1/2 years and I think they were about a year old. I can remember very well getting them. I just can't place the year, you know?
It must be exciting, watching the seeds. Good luck with them.
well, if I'm going to leave them all together, I think perhaps I should repot them into something a bit bigger.
Each bulb has, at least, 6 pups. I'd have to go fairly large, wouldn't I? and deep, too to allow for all those roots.

Worsleya is a very shy bloomer. I live in Hawai'i and I have seen flowers on my plants just once. At the time I believed that they are high elevation plants so I sent them to a friend who lives at a 4,000 something elevation and the plants still has not flowered yet. They look very green and healthy but no flowers. I would be interested in learning more about this valuable species.

I had my first one bloom last year and I have maybe 3 more that are blooming size so hopefully mine will not be quite so shy. I did get 35 seedlings to grow from last years selfing of mine so I was very pleased with that :o) Dan
