Wow!! Those are just amazing!! Just amazing!! The first picture looks just like 4th of July Fireworks!! I can only imagine what the pink and white one will look like when all the flowers open!!!

Oh Dan, your Karoo Lily bulbs are looking more and more like caudexes of Caudiciforms. Love them! I wish that you could bottle the fragrance.

Blanca, one of the reason I like them so much is the massive bulb above ground as I think it is an architectural statement like a caudex as you say. The bulbs on the Ammocharis are approx. 7" in diameter just to give an impression of scale :o) Dan

you definitely have some fabulous looking specimens!

is that your ammocharis coranica legonyane form? I got one of those in from south africa (through an english nursery) last october, also a huge bulb. I hope it will root in nicely and establish well over spring and summer.

do you also grow any of the other forms? taba sekkehune, knopieskop or nongoma?

my available space is slowly filling up, but my aim now is to either sell or swap most of my smaller sized bulbs or seedlings, as they generally dont do well here in the very hot swiss summers, and then just invest in a few more large specimens (ammocharis, brunsvigias..etc) as i find they stand the swiss summers well, and are definitely very impressive. Did you get that large brunsvigia josephinae also from Guy Wrinkle? if so, was it the LARGE, LARGER or LARGEST of the bulbs he offers?. I met Guy last april in California, and made a film with him for his website, where he talks about boophanes. if you want, i can send you the link to the video.

are you still looking for boophane sp port elizabeth with frilly leaves? if so, i have a small bulb i can send you as a swap..

Dan your photos are amazing I particularly love your pictures that show the entire plant. I know this will sound corny but when I saw these photos I thought there were like works of art.

Do you trim the leaves on these? Or is that all new growth I know these species get very gangly foliage.
