Alfalfa pellets

I have amaryliss growing in beds outdoors that bloomed very poorly this year. I have used alfalfa pellets on roses and daylilies with great results. Has anyone used the pellets on bulbs growing outdoors and do you recommend it? If so, what time of year did you apply the pellets?

What is your purpose for using them on your roses and day lilies?

How old are your bulbs, where are they planted and where do you live (nearest large city)?

Many factors impact blooms.
