Alpaca poop as fertilizer

I was given two large bags of composted alpaca poop yesterday. Has anyone used composted manure for fertilizing their amaryllis? Alpaca poop is not supposed to be "hot" like horse, cow, or chicken manure. I know that Jobe's organic fertilizer is mostly composted poultry manure. My dog found it to be irresistible, and ate nearly an entire bag!! She was ok... Just stinky.

Hi Kristi,

Your dog's story makes me laugh out loud :) Well, I never used alpaca poop before, but I experimented once with bunny poop, which is also not "hot" like the other manure, but I found that there is some sort of fungal roots, kinda like spider web, growing from the pots with the bunny fertilizer. That's probably not a good thing, so I repot them with different soil.

UGH...thanks! I use this in my garden, with other compost, but don't know how much I'd use in potted amaryllis. May use a couple heaping tablespoons in 1 gallon pots, just to see if there is a difference.
