Is there some general rules on how light and temperature affect the colour of the blooms?

I noticed some growers in Asia where it is hot and humid have blooms which look really washed out eg. dancing queen looks more like a nymph as it is mostly white with only a very few streaks of colour.

How do you get white ones looking flawlessly white - i notice some of them develop red veins.

And how do you get dark red ones blooming at their darkest?
