I got a shipment of lobsters today...and the gardening gods must have known that there was reason to celebrate, besides it being my best friends b-day (yes...I gave Mary and her hub 2 2-lb lobsters and I took the others home for me!)...I got not only all my Bloomingbulbs, but my McClure-Zimmerman replacement came (A HUGE 27cm Elvas)!! Which means my MZ order can't be far behind!! Whooo hoooo!!!

I have potted up Pink Surprise, Hercules, Papilio, gracilis (red) and Amsterdam but not much is happening so far.... sigh.... My three sonatini hybrids are in rest (no leaves) and the rest of the gang is above, cool but lit.
My Blossom Peacock has just bloomed (second time this year) so i'm following Veronica Read's advice (in her book) and delaying winter rest for at least 2 or 3 months. BTW, I do not force my bulbs, but they do not tend to flower in winter, it is just darker and cooler anyway, since i don't use any artificial lighting.

Most excellent, Kristi!

I'm on pins and needles, waiting to see what varieties our garden center will have this year. I'm hoping they get a few different types, and not just the same list they had last year.

Actually, I've been doing some much needed re-potting of bulbs... but I ran out of ingredients for my medium, so I have to wait until we head to town again.

It sounds like some great photos will be posted this season... can't wait to see everyone's choices in bloom!
