No not boring, just some of us just do not get around to looking. The best suggestion I have seen is to start them in soil by placing them down in the soil side ways. The only problems I have run into with this is if I have them outside the snails love to eat the tender shoots, and now a toad wants to dig the soil out from around one of my seedlings. I also lost many of my seedlings when moving from water to soil so now I forget the water and stay with the soil from start to finish. My first encounter with seedlings was an accident. After looking at those "seeds" I thought they were just "paper" without any seeds so I just threw them onto my flower bed and forgot them. Ended up with about 7 extra plants in a couple years with not effort from me. That was when I realized it could be done. Found the gardenweb later. So you just might want to try the soil only method as transplants some of us just do not do well in the process.

Dear Wally...thanks for the advice...have been growing from seed for years with great success. Just neglected these on accident.

Are you getting drenched with rain? Spring is. The now 200+ hippis in pots are soaking this up...and due to the lack of rain, I was half hoping I could stop watering and get them to die back this year. NOPE...oh well....I'll take the rain! Last year when moving to the greenhouse I just dealt with the leaves and they all eventually died back, but it was a mess to deal with!

How I have understood it late germinated seedlings? So put them under a lamp.
