For some of our newer member,who might be considering creating their own hippeasatrum hybrids, I thought it might help to build a thread with sites showing examples of hybrids (including parent info) to help show what they might expect. And please post pictures of your hybrids here (include parent info) so we can all learn from your hybridization journey. And no, I'm not trying to enable....well maybe a little :) Anyway here's a site to start this thread -- -J

And maybe those on the forum with some experience in hybridizing could share their observations on some genetic inheritance patterns in Hippis - i.e. dominant and recessive traits in coloration, flower shape, etc. Thanks!

Thank you for sharing! I always find this sort of information fascinating =)

If fragrance is recessive, is it true that only an F2 hybrid of a fragrant and nonfragrant species would have a chance of showing the trait? Or has codominance been observed in some cases?
